Caring for West Loch Tarbert, from forest to sea

Action West Loch is a community conservation charity based in Tarbert, Argyll, working for environmental protection and citizen science around West Loch Tarbert.

We protect and restore habitats across the catchment: Atlantic rainforest and native woodland, riparian corridors, wetlands, freshwater systems and the marine environments of the loch itself. We work to conserve native plants and animals, to protect ecosystems from pollution and degradation, and to monitor the effects of climate change, supporting the scientific survey work that guides evidence-based restoration.

We do this alongside farmers, fishers, foresters, landowners, scientists, public bodies and local businesses.

Everyone is welcome to get involved. Through citizen science, research, field work, volunteering and practical conservation, we offer local people and visitors the chance to connect with nature, for their own wellbeing and for the care of the place we share.
